Who's Ernest?
I am aptly named. When I was young, my mother thought I would likely become a preacher due to my seriousness. She was almost right: I earned a Ph.D. in engineering physics. There is less daylight between these two vocations than most people think.For two decades as a "soft-money" faculty member I managed millions in research funding and licensed IP to a startup. Over time it has become much harder to find funding in my field related to alternative energy conversion technology.Since one of the skills you develop in academia is writing, I have pivoted to help others through writing, usually with the goal of educating. Putting my curiosity and technical background to use, I serve engineering-driven companies by helping them "friend-raise", explain their mission, and build affinity for their products and services.
